Opening Ceremony of our New Home at Banting Selangor .
During the cloudy and rainy weekend, on 4th of November 2012, the opening ceremony of Persatuan Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal Negeri Selangor or Handicapped And Mentally Disabled Children Association Selangor was held at Bandar Mahkota Banting, Selangor by our Guest of Honour National Shuttler Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Lee Chong Wei and Puan Sri Chelsia Cheng, Chairperson of Lion Parkson Foundation.
The ceremony started at 3:30pm afternoon and was continued till 5:30pm. In the beginning Chairman of Handicapped And Mentally Disabled Children Association Johor Bahru, Tuan Haji Mohd Farid Bin Dato O/K Haji Hassan has given welcome speech to welcome all the guests, supporters and people of mass media. Puan Sri Chesia Chen, the chairperson of Lion Parkson Foundation added her key notes after that and provided brief about the project and future expansion. Souvenirs were presented as a token of appreciation to the Dato’ Lee Chong Wei and Puan Sri Chelsia Cheng by the Founder/President of Handicapped And Mentally Disabled Children Association Johor Bahru Mr. V. Rajamanikam PIS. Puan Sri Chelsia has also presented a beautiful painting of horse painted by the disabled children to Dato’ Lee. And Dato’ has presented his biography to the Puan Sri Chelsia, Tuan Haji Mohd Farid, and Mr. V. Rajamanikam.
Dato’ Lee Chong Wei has showed his immense support to the Handicapped And Mentally Disabled Children Association and Lion Parkson Foundation, and he has provided a fund of RM100,000 on behalf of Lee Chong Wei Foundation to the Lion Parkson Foundation for the construction of Phase II and Phase III of the Banting Home,
Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Lee Chong Wei together with Puan Sri Chelsia Chen officially performed the opening ceremony of the Home and visited the Home and met with all the patients and staff. Dato’ and Puan Sri also had good conversation with children and asked about their health. They have showed their sympathy towards children and appreciated the efforts of our organization for the provision of residential care facilities to the handicap and mentally disabled children.
A short press conference and refreshment was arranged after the visit to express the concerns of Dato’ for the Home and towards the helpless people. He was also interested to help the organization in future. Before the closing of event audience has given a chance to play Badminton with Dato’ Lee for the collection of donation and funds.
On behalf of Handicapped And Mentally Disabled Children Association once again we are grateful to Lion Parkson Foundation for their endless support to our cause and to Dato’ Lee who has taken his time from his busy schedule to come over to Help of Helpless. We are certain that their support and cooperation will be continued in future to serve the most ignored people of the society.
